The Class of '52 personal histories were updated for the 50th reunion. Sue Nichols Wooldridge
and Jim Wooldridge provided their computer records for this update. We greatly appreciate
their help in keeping the histories current. The few records that were not updated are so noted.

ROBERT ADAMS: Robert married Peggy Lipscomb on May 8th,
1954 and they have one child Wendi. She has an eleven
year old daughter, Sloan, and a nine year old son, Blain.
Doctor Adams is semi-retired and is preparing to work with
a friend in Union City, TN. Wendi has an accounting degree
from UT Martin. She is married to Neil Buettner, an anesthetist.
They reside in Paris where Wendi has a Huddle House business.
Robert still enjoys walking and working out. They are
members of the First Baptist Church in Paris. They reside
at Paris, TN, 38222.


CLARICE ALLEN MYERS: Clarice and her husband Ray returned
to Paris in 1970 when he retired from the Army. For the
past 30 years they have operated Myers Peach Orchard on a
60 acre farm west of Paris. The orchard will close at the
end of this season and they will give up most of their
involvement in church and community work.....leaving more
time for traveling, fishing and reading. They make their
home at Paris, TN 38242.


JERRY ANDERSON: Jerry was employed with Union Carbide as
an Industrial Engineer for some 25 years and retired from the
company January 31, 1992. For relaxation he enjoys reading,
watching TV, and traveling. He and his wife June have a
married daughter, a married son and a 3 year old granddaughter.
They make their home at Columbia, TN 38401.
Passed away July 24, 2005.

BILL BIGHAM: Bill is a retired music professor from Morehead
State University in Kentucky. His wife, Wanda, completed a sixteen-year
stint as a college president; but instead of retiring, she accepted a
position in Nashville with the General Board of the United Methodist Church,
working with Methodist colleges all over the world. Bill divides his time
between Nashville and the Lake Martin/Montgomery area, where he still
has musical and grandparenting responsibilities (daughter Jan's two girls).
Son Bill, Jr. lives in Orlando with his wife and two children; and daughter Julie
in Colorado with her husband and daughter with one more scheduled to
arrive in July 05. All parties concerned tell him that number six grandchild
will definitely be the last. His previous bio alluded to golfing and sailing as
pastimes, but neither are getting much attention now. Most of his spare time
is taken with driving (the car, not the golf ball): Lake Martin to Nashville
and to Montgomery. His address is Alexander City, AL 35010.

PAUL BLANKENSHIP: Paul and his wife, Nelroy, still live in
Michigan where they have lived since 1954. Paul was employed
with Fisher Body Division of General Motors and retired as
Maintenance Superintendent in 1977. He is a Lay Leader in
Redeemer Methodist Church. Since his retirement they enjoy
traveling and spend 6 weeks each year on Kentucky Lake and
each winter in Melbourne, FL. They have one son and 5 grand
children. Both he and Nelroy are avid golfers. They reside

PETER BRICE; I finished High School in Tuscaloosa, AL, and
50th Reunion there is same weekend as in Paris. 1952 to 1984
I was in the Military. Navy, 1952-1956. Army 1956-1984.
Water transportation, Key West(Navy) San Francisco, Korea,
New Orleans, Azores, Fort Eustis, Va.,(near Norfolk),Vietnam
(four tours), Fort Eustis, Hawaii, and retired at Fort Eustis.
Two ex-wives and two kids. Son Steve, 42, Apopka, FL.He has
two boys and a girl. Daughter Kathy, 40, never married. I
stay busy with a part time job, golf, fishing and being

BARBARA BOYD CROCKER: Barbara and husband, Bob, own and operate
Shamrock Resort on Kentucky Lake near Paris Landing. When they
find time they like to dance and visit with their two grand
children.....children of Bob,Jr. In the winter they like to
travel. They make their home at the resort at

JIMMY BRUCE: Jim moved to Memphis in 1952 and attended
University of Memphis. He had a career of 44 years with
the First Tennessee Bank in Memphis. He retired in 1999.
Since then he has been active in community and political
groups and doing volunteer work for his church. He enjoys
reading and attending plays. He lives at Memphis, TN, 38104.


KENNETH CHAPMAN: Ken and his son, Jeff, are General
Contractors, specializing in building Banks, Schools
and Medical Offices. His wife, Terry, does oil painting
and dotes on their one grandson, Austin. They also have
two daughters, Dedra and Dana who live in Tulsa, OK. Ken
and Terry are active in Church and enjoy boating as their
recreation. Their address is Tulsa, OK, 74133


LAZETTE CROUCH HOOVER: I retired from Dial Corp in March 1994
and moved to Cody WY...beautiful area and affordable.....but
kind of like Paris....hard to get to unless you drive. In July
2000 I took a drive down 115 to Mesquite, NV. I discovered a
retirement community in Beaver Dam, AZ, which is just off 115,
25 miles south of St George, UT,and 8 miles north of Mesquite.
I returned to Cody and sold my house and bought a house here
in November 2000. Jenny and Brian live near St Louis, MO.
Becki, Mark and grandchildren still live in Plano, IL, where
they all grew up. The oldest granddaughter is in college. I
still go to the Church of Christ but we are all imports. I
live in Mormon country...but Mesquite has Casinos and Las
Vegas is 90 miles away if one is so inclined. In January I
was elected President of the Home Owners Association...they
always try to get the new people....anyone who has been here
a while knows better. It does keep me busy. My address is
Mesquite, NV, 89024.


JULIA CRUTCHER SANDERS: I retired in 1990 from IRS after 35
years. I quit my part time job at the Drug Store in the fall
of 1995. I'm enjoying being retired. My husband retired from
Metro Government in December of 1998. He is working as a door
greeter for Wal-Mart. He is enjoying it and sees so many
people he worked with or grew up with in Nashville. Our
address is Nashville, TN 37209.


JIM 'BUDDY' DANCY: Buddy served ten years in the Air Force,
the last seven years in the medical specialist corps.
Employed immediately after discharge, as a hospital food
services director for the State of Indiana, he retired after
34 years, in 1994. He and his wife Roselee (who passed away
in 1992) have two children, Robert Joe, a Navy veteran who
now works for the postal service. Robert has four children
and he and his wife, Niki, live in Logansport, IN.
Janice Kimberly, an Indiana University graduate in theater arts,
works in costuming in Seattle. Buddy's interest through the years
has been production work in community theater and he was
active in a conservation organization. During his retirement
years, most of his time has been devoted to genealogy and the
computer. Buddy lives at Logansport, IN,

NEWELL DUNLAP: Newell is editor for an electronic information
publishing company, located in the "Silicon Valley" area of
California. His wife, Susan, is a writer of mystery books.
They live at Albany, CA, 94706.


LORENE ELLIS RIDGEWAY: Lorene retired from the telephone
company in 1982 after 30 years and is now employed part-
time in the office of Henry County Trustee. She and her
husband, Ronnie, own the Best Western Motel in Paris. She
enjoys gardening and fishing. They live at Paris,TN, 38242.


DAVID FREELAND: David has been working at Tecumseh Products
in Paris since 1972 and is presently the Shipping, Receiving,
Material Movement Manager. He and his wife Bobbie have 2
children....son Jonathan is with the Marines and is veteran
of the Gulf War. Daughter Sheri Lynn Carter is manager of
Kilpatrick's Day Care in Paris. They have four grandchildren.
David is a life member of the VFW and enjoys reading and
traveling. He is a Baptist. His address is Paris, TN 38242.

MARGARET FREEMAN COLLINS: After retirement from Schering-
Plough in late 1990, I spent the next several years assisting
our oldest son, David, with his truck brokerage service after
he and Justin moved back to Memphis in 1991. They lived here
until David's untimely death in November 1996. Buddy retired
in 1995 and we both returned to part time employment shortly
thereafter. I currently work 2-3 days a week for Highland
Capital Mgmt Corp., and Buddy works part time for Hertz Rental
Car. I still presently serve as a volunteer for the Ronald
McDonald House one day a week and had the honor of being chosen
Volunteer of the Year for 2001. Our daughter, Debra, lives in
Jackson, TN, and is employed at West Tennessee Healthcare as
Manager of Invasive Cardiology Outpatient Services. Our son,
Dewaine, is still employed at Memphis Light, Gas and Water.
We now have six grandchildren. Debra's daughter, Dawn Marie,
resides in Memphis, is married, and is employed at Highland
Capital Mgmt., also. Debra also has one step-daughter, Danna,
age 19. Dewaine has two children, Chelsea 9 and Brad 7.
David's children, Justin, 20, and Lori, 30, live in Birmingham.
Buddy and I sold our farm in Paris several years ago, and now
we enjoy traveling in our spare time. At present, we have
visited every state in the union except Alaska, and we plan
to do that real soon. Our address is Memphis, TN, 38122-1817.


ROBERT L. & AMANDA HURDLE HAILEY: Amada retired in 1995 as a
fifth grade teacher after 20 years. Bob retired in 1996 as a
Manufacturing Engineer with Emerson Electric Company after 33
years. They have two children, Melissa Kate Oliver and Brad.
Melissa Kate lives in Bartlett, TN and is Vice President of
Marketing for ServiceMaster Corporation. Brad lives in Paris
and is Senior Vice-President with Commercial Bank & Trust Co.
They have two grandchildren and one on the way. They reside at
Paris, TN 38242.


WILLIAM HAILEY: Bill finally retired (or retarded, as they say,
.... quote from Bill (SW) from the Air Force in 1976. He got
tired of being shot at. For the next 20 years he was Director of
Cardio-Vascular and Neurology services at a local hospital. He
spends his time doing "What ever he feels like doing". He is
a member of the Biloxi Yacht Club and unlike a lot of clubs
they cook, run the races and in general have a ball. Yes, he
can cook although he confess that his wife, Jo Frances, is a
better cook. He turned in his heavy duty fishing tackle, sold
his big boat and bought a 20'that his son uses, but does let
him use it to get to the islands and away from the crowds. They
have three children. They live at Biloxi, MS 39532


GEORGE TRENT HALL: G. T. retired from TVA in Knoxville as
an Electrical Engineer after 32 years and now resides in
Dresden, TN., where he enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling
and flying. He and his wife Linda have 2 children....Trent
is an Electrical Engineer in Knoxville and Tracy Hall Hewellyn
lives in Indianapolis, In. Linda is a retired English teacher
from Martin Westview High School. They reside at Dresden,TN, 38225.


CAROLYN HARDIN VELTMAN: Carolyn and Keith returned to Henry
County in 1991 after residing in New Orleans, LA, for more
than 30 years. We built our home by Kentucky Lake. Our time
is spent traveling, camping, and enjoying our 11 grandchildren.
Daughter, Cynthia Oliver and her four daughters (Cherrie, Aimee,
Courtney, and Monique) moved to Henry County about eight years
ago. She is now assistant principal of Grove School. Son,
Henry, is a safety engineer with Conoco Oil in Houston,TX,
His four children are Henry,Jr., Lisa, Jobin John, and Theresa.
Son, Mark, is a fleet manager with J/B Hunt in Rogers, AR. His
two children are Karl and Kelly. Son Keith,Jr., is a compliance
officer with Chevron Oil in Lafayette, LA,. He is living in
Baton Rouge, LA. His only son is Ryan. All are doing well
and making us proud. Our address is Springville, TN, 38256.


PATSY HILL BURDETTE: Patsy is a homemaker. Her husband,
Ed, is a professor of Civil Engineering at UT Knoxville.
They have five children: David, a neurologist at Henry Ford
Hospital, Detroit, MI. Allison, who teaches business law at
Emory University, Atlanta,GA. Jonathan, a neuroradiologist
at Wake_Forest University School of Medicine, Winston-Salem,
NC. Hillary a pediatrician, fellow at Children's Hospital
Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH. Kevin, an opera singer (bass)
at New York City Opera. They have nine grandchildren. Their
address is Knoxville,TN, 37923


RAY CLINTON HOLDER: Clint is retired from the Civil Service
(U S Government) and Teledyne Engineering. He and his wife
Ramelle are members of the Latham United Methodist Church.
Their 3 sons, Russ, Dan and Mark are outstanding blue grass
instrumentalists. They enjoy frequent get togethers with them.
They also have 5 grandchildren. Besides music, the family
enjoys frequent visits to a near-by lake. They reside at
Huntsville, AL, 35802


TED JENKINS: Ted retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant
Officer, W4, after 24 years. Fourteen as an Army helicopter
pilot and flight instructor. He was awarded the Distinguished
Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Air Medal for Heroism, Eight Air
Medals, VN Cross of Gallantry, Army Commendation Medal,
Meritorious Service Medal, et,al. Ted earned a Masters Degree
and taught at Buchanan Elementary School and Henry County
High School. He left teaching in 1980 to become Assistant
Manager of Holley Credit Union, retiring from there in 1990
but continuing to work part-time for five more years. Ted
is married to his original wife, the former Mary Ruth Harnish,
an avid bridge player with a Life Master rating. They have
two children, Melody(44) and Mark(40). Melody has two Masters
Degrees in piano, one in accompaniment, one in performance,
from the University of Arizona and a Doctorate from the
University of Oklahoma in piano performance. She and her
husband, Eric Fried, a professor at Texas Tech, have two
children, Halil (12) and Holden (8). Mark is married to
the former Beth Humphrey and they have two boys, Will (10)
and Roy (3). Mark received his MBA from Texas Tech and is
currently the Senior Projects Manager for Hardee's restaurants
in St Louis, Mo. Ted and Ruthie reside at Paris, TN, 38242
