Margaret "Martee" Humphries Atkins, age 91 of Memphis passed away at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, October 7, 2016 at Balmoral Presbyterian Church, 6413 Quince Road, Memphis, TN 38116.

A Graveside Service is scheduled at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, TN. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Atkins will be Bill Powell, Brody Hall, Tim Swindell, Drew Hall, Wes Doyle, Bill Young, Paul Atkins, Shane Atkins, and Art Hall.

Margaret  Humphreys Atkins was born July 25, 1925 in Paris, Tennessee to the late Daniel Owings "D. O." Humphreys and the late Margaret Ann Travis Humphreys. On February 15, 1947 she married Mr. Obie Marion Atkins who preceded her in death on May 4, 1992.

Mrs. Martee Atkins is survived by one daughter, Margaret "Meg" Atkins Jones of Memphis, TN; one son, Paul Calvin (Katherine) Atkins of Cumming, GA; one brother, John Travis Humphreys of Huntsville, AL; four grandchildren, Shane Atkins, Travis Atkins (fiance Chris Meyer), Kimberly Atkins (Justin) Budzinski, and Meghan (Wes) Doyle; four great-grandchildren, Tristen Mitchell, Caden Mitchell, Olivia Doyle, and Madison Budzinski; two nieces, Catherine Atkins Hall and Vita Swindell; great niece, Aynne Swindell Worthington; and two great nephews, Drew Hall and Brody Hall.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Owings "Bud" Humphreys

Mrs. Atkins taught deaf students for over 30 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to: Balboral Presbyterian Church, 6413 Quince Road, Memphis, TN 38119.
