Sandra Ann Bedwell, 68, of Paris died Sunday, Dec. 13,
2009, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
She was married on Dec. 23, 1960 to Kenneth Gene Bedwell, who survives. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member and a member of the Lydia Dorcus Sunday school class. Trent Bullock and Larry Simmons will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Rex Hartsfield, Terry Oliver, John Porter Oliver, Andy Hooper, Don Hartsfield and Bucky Purcell. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Born July 1, 1941 in Paris, she was the daughter of the late Robert Jerome Claxton, who died March 6, 1967 and Rebecca Hartsfield Claxton, who died Dec. 11, 1999. She formerly worked with Merle Norman of Paris and was a teacher’s aide in the Paris Special School District. She was an active member of the local American Cancer Society support group, where she dedicated her efforts to providing encouragement and support to others battling cancer. In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter: Cynthia Lynne (Steve) Green of Paris; a son: Randall Jerome Bedwell of Paris; one sister: Cynthia (Mike) Jennings of Nashville; three grandchildren: Rachel Ann Green, Daniel Scott Green and John Riley Bedwell; several nieces, including, Nicole (Todd) Wade; several nephews, including Jason (Amy) Jennings; and several cousins. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. |
