Retired postal carrier Eddie Watson Berry, 78, of Paris died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at his residence.

His wife, Katheryn Ann Ellis Berry, survives. They were married on Jan. 21, 1982.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Bobby Higgs and Robert Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers are Jonah McKenzie, W.C. Collins, Zach Hogan, Hal Ellis and Donnie Webb.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Born Feb. 8, 1931, in Paris, he was the son of Floyd W. and Louis Berle Watson Berry, now both deceased.

Berry worked as a postal service carrier in Paris and then along Route 5 in Henry County before retiring. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paris, the Elks Lodge, where he was past exalted ruler, and the Paris Moose Lodge.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and member of VFW. He attended Murray State University for two years and according to his wife, was a devoted University of Tennessee sports fan.

He also leaves a daughter: Dana (Robert) Owen of Henry; a son: Russell (Tiffany) Berry of Nolensville; a stepson: Brian (Teri) Willoughby of Smyrna; four grandchildren: Zach Hogan of Henry, Ridley Berry of Nolensville and Taylor and Drew Willoughby of Smyrna; a great-grandchild: Addelynn Hogan of Paris; and a special friend of the family: Wanda Hughes of Paris.
