Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth ‘Bo’ Boyd, daughter of Laverne Eveleane ‘Teeny’ Tuck Brockwell and the late J.W. ‘Brock’ Brockwell was born August 9, 1943 in Paris, Tennessee. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was a dedicated member of New Bethel Baptist Church. At New Bethel, she served faithfully as she was involved in youth activities for many years.

She was united in holy matrimony to Joe Garvis Boyd on June 14, 1963. This union was blessed with five children. Her husband Joe preceded her in death on February 9, 2009.

Bo was an active member of Girl Scouts of America for 23 years and served as a Scout Leader for her daughters as well as her granddaughters. She retired from Wal-Mart after 25 years of service.

Bo was a woman that many aspired to be more like and was grateful that God allowed her to be their mentor and friend. If you knew her, then you know she was the true matron of her family, and if you didn't, then you truly missed out on a beautiful blessing. She never walked away from those she loved without a hug, a kiss and an “I love you”. Her Christian life was evident to so many and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.

She unexpectedly departed this life Friday, July 29, 2016 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tennessee. The family will receive those who wish to pay respect from 12:00 to 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at McEvoy Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at Maplewood Cemetery at 3:30 PM. Those with the privilege of serving as her pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons; Hunter, Josh, Blake, Aiden and Tyler Frey, Josh and Justin Hofmann and Ethan Berry. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters; Stacie Savage, Isabella Williams, Olivia Williams and Katie Savage and her grandsons Samuel and Ryan Latham and her great grandson Jaxon Frey.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Nina ‘Lyn’ (Rod) Frey, Amanda ‘Beth’ (Mike) Savage and Brandi Jill Williams all of Paris, Tennessee, Jennifer Dean (John) Latham of Jackson, Tennessee, Paula (Jimmy) Hofmann of Burke, Virginia and Carol Tate of Springfield, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joe Stace Boyd on March 23, 1989.

She is survived by her sisters Sue Owen and Ann (Dale) Steele of Paris, Tennessee and her brother John (Teresa) Brockwell of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

She will forever be remembered as Grammy Bo by her grandchildren; Stacie Savage, Hunter (Morgan King) Frey, Isabella Williams, Olivia Williams, Katie Savage, Samuel Latham, Ryan Latham, Josh (Kelly) Frey, Josh(Tanya) Hofmann, Justin Hofmann, Wesley (Cassandra) Tate and B.J. Tate and her great grandchildren; Jaxon, Blake and Aiden Frey, Ethan Berry, Stormie Bratchi, Lex Tate and Maya Hofmann; as well as, Mindy (Jeff), Hannah, Kaylynn Maci and Anniston Jarnigan, TJ, Tyler and Molly Frey, and Emilee, Braedyn, Bryna and Coleson Zurga. She will be missed by a host of deeply loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
