Mike Chapman

A service for former Parisian Michael Travis "Mike" Chapman was planned today in Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis. A private burial will follow.

Chapman, 52, died of heart failure Friday, May 11, 2001, in Paris while visiting his father-in-law, Sam Seawright.

Born September 28, 1948, he was the son of the late Thomas Leon Chapman and Virginia Travis "Pat" Chapman.

His wife the former Peggy Seawright survives. They were married 29 years.

Chapman was the first certified mortgage consultant in Tennessee, according to a family member.

In addition to his wife and father-in-law, he leaves two sons: Michael Travis Chapman, Jr. and Dereck Bradford Chapman, both of Germantown, Tennessee and two aunts, Eva Sinclair and Mildred Jones, both of Paris.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association.
