Cherry Former Henry Countian Wayne Caraway Cherry, 84, of Memphis died of cancer early Monday morning, Jan. 14, 2008, at his residence. His wife of 45 years Janet Epstein Cherry survives. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday. Cherry was the son of the late Albert Wayne and Corrine Caraway Cherry, who lived in Paris. Cherry was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Employed in automotive parts warehousing, Cherry was a founding director of Prime Automotive Warehouse in Memphis, where he retired. In addition to his wife, he leaves a son: Stephen Brittain Britt Thompson; and two grandchildren: Jake Caraway Thompson and Brittain Barnhill Thompson, all of Panama City Beach, Fla. Memorials may be made to the Junior Golf Association, www.thefirstteememphis.org., the Memphis Childrens Advocacy Center or a charity of the donors choice. |
