Services for former Carter Road|
resident Bobbie L. Compton of
Momingside of Paris were at 2 p.m.
Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Otis Hinton of Temple Baptist
Church, where he was a member
and deacon, officiated. Burial was
in Memorial Cemetery.

Selected as pallbearers were Joe
Mollicone, James Perkins, Donald
Thomas, Jimmy Lipford, Ken Cowell
and Roy Horn.

Honorary pallbearers were Jer-
emy Hunter, Billy Gooch, Thomas
Minor, Charles Walker, Josh and
Joseph Sutton; Cody Hodges, Todd Hill, Charlie Bums, Nelson White, Randy Whitehead and Jason Compton.

Visitation was Saturday and Sun-
day.

Compton, 70, died Friday moming,

Oct. 17, 2003, at Henry County Medical Center.

Born on Jan. 6, 1933, in Paris,
he was a son of Samanthia Buchanan
Compton of Paris and the late Ervin
L. Compton.

He was married on Dec. 22, 1952,
to the former Estelle Smith, who
died July 14, 2003.

Compton was a Grove High
School graduate and a licensed
building contractor.

A U.S. Army
veteran, he served in the Korean
War for two years.

He leaves two daughters: Donna
Hodges of Hopkinsville, Ky., and
Lisa Sutton of Paris; one son: Rus-
sell "Rusty" Compton of Paris;
Nine grandchildren: Jaime, Jesgsica,
Josh and Joseph Sutton, Vicky
and Jason Compton, Tracy Mollicone
and Cody and Kayce Hodges.
