A memorial service for Jo Anne Holden Hietpas will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011, at LeDon Chapel at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Friday.

The Rev. Joe Geary will officiate with cremated remains to be buried at Olive Branch Cemetery following the service.

She is survived by husband Gerald “Jerry” Hietpas.

She is predeceased by parents William Harlan and Lola E. Forrester Holden. She is also precedeased by brother William Earl Holden and sister, Jean Holden Wagner.

She is survived by a sister: Nancy C. (Bobby) McBride of Parsons; and brother: R. Michael (Carol) Holden of Paris. Jo Anne is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jo Anne passed away March 15, 2011, at her home in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.

Jo Anne was born May 31, 1943, in Henry County. She attended school at Cottage Grove School, Atkins-Porter School and graduated from E.W. Grove High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society.

Jo Anne was married to Gerald “Jerry” Hietpas in Alamogordo, N.M., on Feb. 16, 1978, after a previous marriage to Carle H. Clarke.

Jo Anne and Jerry spent three and one-half years in Saudi Arabia, where Jerry worked for Lockheed. Jo Anne was the office manager for a major international law firm while in Saudi Arabia.

During their 33 years of marriage, Jo Anne helped raise and provide a college education for four stepchildren: Elise, Thomas, Steven and Tara.

Jo Anne and Jerry traveled extensively including Europe, Africa, China, Canada and Hawaii. They also toured throughout the U.S.A. in an RV. Many of these trips included a much loved companion, her mother Lola Holden.

Jo Anne also has many friends in the Paris area as well as her adopted home in Arizona. She will be missed by all who knew her. Her charm, personality and generosity were so much appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
