Former Memphis truck dispatcher Larry Gene Laycook, 61, of Paris died Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilita- tion Center. The body was to be cremated. A memorial service will be sched- uled later. No visitation is planned. Ridge- way Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born April 6, 1943, in Paris, he was a son of the late William Jessie "Cookie" Laycook Sr., and Mary Christine Haddock Laycook. Laycook was a

School graduate, where he was active in all sports. He attended Memphis State University, now the University of Memphis. He was a Methodist. He leaves two sisters: Sue Boyd and Helen (Robert) Colley, both of Paris; Two brothers: Chuck (Inez) Laycook of Lakeland, Fla., and William Jessie "Bill" (Lydia) Laycook of Metamora, Mich.; Five nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great- great-nephews. He also was preceded in death by two nieces. |
