William Donald McFadden 71, formerly of Paris, Tennessee and a longtime resident of Huntsville, Alabama, died on Monday November 30, 2015 at Huntsville Hospital. Cause of death was pneumonia.

Don was born on January 15, 1944 to the late William Freeman McFadden and Lilly Lucille Roberts both of Paris, Tennessee.

Don's survivors include a daughter Lori McFadden Rasmussen (Mark) of Asheville, North Carolina, a sister Martha Holt (Charles) of Nashville, Tennessee and nieces Elizabeth Graham Yelton (Jay) of Birmingham, Al. and Anna Corinne Holt of Nashville. Nephew Charles Elliott Holt, Nashville. He is also survived by five first cousins: David John Roberts, Paris, Tennessee, Dan Roberts, Jackson, Tennessee, and Ann Dallinger, Charles Watkins and Marci Watkins Gemmill all of Nashville. Former spouse Susan Spalding survives him.

Don attended Atkins Porter Elementary, Grove Junior High and EW Grove High in Paris and was a 1962 graduate of EW Grove where he was a member of the Grove Marching Band, the Dance Band and often played saxophone with the Sellers Leach Orchestra alongside his father Freeman.

Don received his degree in Physics Engineering from UT Knoxville in 1966. Don was an Eagle Scout and as a young boy, Don was well known as the boy that built and launched rockets in his backyard. He turned his hobby into a 30 year career as a Physics Engineer with Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville.

Don's remains were cremated and there will be a memorial service at the Huntsville Eckankar Center on December 19 at 2:00. Don was a long time member of the Eckankar Clergy.
