Retired Midland-Haldex Corp. employee Tommy
L. McNutt, 63, of Paris died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Henry County Medical Center. His wife, Rachel Carolyn Lee McNutt, survives. They were married on June 22, 1967. His funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Roger Banks of VanDyke Church of Christ, where he was a member, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are grandsons: Jordan Flood and Jacob Pierce; and other family members. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Tuesday. Born Dec. 4, 1945, in Henry County, he was the son of the late William Orvis Boob McNutt and Irene Lampkins McNutt. McNutt retired from Midland-Haldex after 40 years. He was a 1965 graduate of Grove High School and member of VanDyke Church of Christ. An avid drag racing enthusiast, he built drag racing cars and raced them at Northwest Tennessee Motor Sports in Gleason. He also leaves two daughters: Rebecca Becky Flood and Michelle (Nate) Pierce, both of Paris; two sisters: Peggy (Reed) Shepherd and Sandra (Crockett) Mathis, both of Paris; his in-laws: Tommy and June Paschall of Paris; Five brothers-in-laws: Jewell, David, Walter, James and William Lee; a sister-in-law: Nadean Larsen; two nieces: Vicki Snyder and Lori Forrester; two nephews: Michael Shepherd and Randy Mathis; three other grandchildren: Jaryn Flood and Cade and Zeb Pierce; and special friends: Danny and Andrea Tucker. He also was preceded in death by a grandchild: Anna Grace Pierce on Sept. 4, 2003. |
