Northwest Tennessee Tourism board member Cecil Thomas “Tommy” Moody, 61, of
Camden died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at his residence. His wife, Joyce Moody, survives. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Gary Collier will officiate. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Michael and Tyler Mason, Keith Henegar, David Mitchell, Jeremiah Malone and Austin Flowers. Honorary pallbearers will be Shorty Wright, Ernie Madrey, Earl Bentz, Ray Smith and Mike Shelton. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Saturday. Born June 10, 1950, in Chattanooga, he was a son of Cecil T. Moody, who died Aug. 4, 1976, and Rella Moody Thompson, who died April 17, 2008. Moody was a member of Paris Masonic Lodge 108. An outdoorsman, he was a lifetime member of BASS, which is associated with Bassmasters, a founding member of the Legends of the Outdoors National Hall of Fame and a member of Ducks Unlimited. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter: Suzanne (Joseph) Jones of Memphis; two sisters: Helen (Mike) Anderson and Melba (Ricky) Bluford, both of Chattanooga; four brothers: Don (Anna) Weathers, Jimmy (Debbie) Weathers, Wesley (Kim) Weathers and Doug (Michelle) Weathers, all of Chattanooga; one grandchild: Tyson Chaz Jones of Memphis; and a special friend: Garry (Cindy) Mason of Springville. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Diane Bryant. Memorials may be made to Kids Hunting for a Cure, 3601 CCI Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805. |
