The funeral service for homemaker
and former Paris resident Joyce Owen Morris of Clarksville was at 2 p.m.
Monday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Richard Perigo of Jehovah’s Witnesses, South Clarksville congregation officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Family members were pallbearers. Visitation was Monday. Morris, 79, died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville. Born May 28, 1932, in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Washington Owen and Mattie Belle Vaughn Owen. She was married on Jan. 23, 1955, to George Herbert Morris, who died Feb. 8, 2001. She was a Jehovah’s Witness. Survivors are one daughter: Jan (Rod) Stumphf of Clarksville; two sons: Mark (Barbara) Morris and Jason (Kathy) Morris, both of Clarksville; one sister-in-law: Ludene Owen of Paris; three brothers: James (Neva) Owen of Lansing, Mich., and Gordon Owen and Byron (Betty) Owen, both of Paris; six grandchildren: Shane and Matthew Stumphf, Megan Martis and Michael, Caitlin and Bradley Morris; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She also was preceded in death by four sisters: Geneva McClure, Naomi Woodard, Marjorie Heath and Sarah McGuire; and one brother: Harold Owen. |
