Bobby Joe Owens, age 82, of Paris, Tenn., died Friday, January 15, 2016, at his residence in Paris, Tenn.

Born September 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Maurice Owens and the late Kate Chilcutt Owens.

He was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church and worked as a contractor who built many homes in Paris and Henry County. Mr. Owens was the founder and former owner and operator of Service Rental Inc.. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who was a founding member and a life member of the Rod & Gun Club.

Bobby married Doris M. Owens September 10, 1955, and she preceded in death May 24, 2014.

He is survived by his Daughter, Lynn Douglass of Paris, Tenn.; Three Sons, Wyatt (Cindy) Owens of Buchanan, Tenn., David (Jeanna) Owens of Paris, Tenn, Dan (Tammy) Owens of Paris, Tenn; Eight Grandchildren: Jill (Mike) Snow of Paris, Tenn., Alan (Jennifer) Douglass of Paris, Tenn., Angie (Curtis) Sullivan of Paris, Tenn., Jeremy (Tiffany) Douglass of Paris, Tenn., Brent Owens of Springville, Tenn., Brad, Adam and Nathan Owens all of Paris, Tenn; Four Great Grandchildren: Ethan Fitzgerald, Abigail Black, Heidi Owens and William Sullivan; and a sister-in-law, Drucilla Owens of Murray, KY.

In addition to his wife and parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Owens and a son–in-law, Donald Douglass.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Monday, January 18, 2016 and from 9 – 11 am Tuesday, January 19, 2016. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 19, 2016, with Jimmy Allison officiating.
