Hospital lab technician Ralph Parker, 71, of Paris died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at his residence.

His wife, Patricia Wimberly Parker, survives. They were married on July 12, 1968.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Lynn King will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.

Named as pallbearers are Eldon, Mike and Gary Wimberly, Mike Garner, Kenny Potts and Tim Scruggs.

Jack Sparks Jr. will be an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before the service on Thursday.

Born in Henry County on Dec. 18, 1942, he was the son of Shellie Boyd Parker of Paris and the late Julian V. Parker.

He worked as a lab technician at Henry County Medical Center for more than 30 years and was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church.

He also leaves a son: James Randall Parker of Union City; and a grandchild: Justin Connor Parker.
