The funeral service for retired mail clerk Glen Stephenson of Paris was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Johnathan Smith of Fairview Baptist Church, where he attended, officiated. A private family burial was planned.

Named as pallbearers were R.T. Miller, David and Jamie Perkins, Billy Michael, Robert “Rookie” Edwards and Jonah McKenzie.

Visitation was Sunday.

Stephenson, 75, of Paris died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

Born in Henry County on Dec. 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Basil Stephenson and Carrie Muzzall Morris.

Stephenson worked at the Paris post office. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and attended Bethel College and Murray State University.

He leaves one daughter: Lisa (Jerry White) Martin of Riverside, Calif.; one sister: Virginia Parrish of Madison; two grandchildren: Nicole Henderson of Riverside and Christina Stephenson of Hopkinsville, Ky.; and a great-grandchild: Landon Brumfield of Hopkinsville.

He also was preceded in death by two sons: Richard Martin Stephenson on July 3, 1970 and Michael Scott Stephenson.
