Bryant Williams ('32), editor emeritus of The Post-Intelligencer, and his wife, Julia Sensing Williams, are one of the couples that have been proving true romance is still alive in Henry County. The Williamses are the unofficial leaders in the county for most number of years married — they will hit their 75th wedding anniversary on Sept. 25. The couple were married in 1933 in Paducah. Several other couples in the county have long-term marriages as well and have interesting tales about how they wound up together. The P-I’s special Love Stories section, which is included with today’s paper, salutes many of those couples who have been married 50 years or longer.
