Puryear High School ~ Class of 1953 ~ 50th Reunion

PURYEAR HIGH CLASS of 1953

Members of the Puryear High School Class of 1953 held a reunion June 14. Classmates, including members who had moved in earlier years, gathered to celebrate the group’s 50-th year reunion, Flag Day and four June birthdays among class members.

Among those attending were - Front row, from left: Bill Newport, Thirza McCuistion Gourley; June Taylor Dunn, Peggy Lane Henderson, Hugh Edd Collins;

Second row: Shirley Holland Bucy, Delora Shankle French, Jean Vaughn Chenoweth, Bobbie Paschall Freeman, Lavelle Byars Stone, Jerry Brannon;

Third row: Harold Vickery, Gwendolyn Flood Outland, Ben Blakely, Barbara Hathcock, Bramlett, Thomas Paschall, Margaret Shankle Baker and Dancel Tayloy.

After the loss of the original building, this group attended school as third and fourth-graders in churches and other buildings intil the new school building was completed by their fifth-grade year.
