The LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of
SENIOR  CLASS   of  1917
By Annie Douglas Swinney

We, the members of the Senior Class,
being of wonderfully sound and well
balanced mind, although physically
scarred and wrinkled by the hardships
which we have endured from our
Freshman hazing to the Senior exams,
do hereby bequeath in the following
order our personal property and at-
tractions to the Students of Grove
School.
Article I. Mr. Zimmerman, to the
whole school.
Article II. His goodness to us, to the
Seniors, to be handed down from Sen-
ior class to Senior class.
Article III. We do not know about
the rest of the faculty, but another that
we can bequeath you is Miss Pearl, our
history teacher—as good one as you
could wish for.
Article IV. The Senior privileges to
the Senior Class, but beware of the
underclassmen encroaching on your
rights, especially the Sophs.
Article V. Inza Ezell leaves behind
her her good grades, to be divided
among the needy.
Article VI. Edith Johnson wills her
punctuality (?) to Margaret Foreman,
hoping the said person to be greatly
benefited by the same.
Article VII. The Senior Basket Ball
Team bequeaths its illustrious rep-
utation to the Junior team.
  Article VIII. Eunice Roberts leaves
to Elsa Ezell the honorable office of
being the editor-in-chief of the "Com-
et."
Article IV (sic) should be IX. Herron Kibbons leaves
to Robert Foreman the job of manag-
ing the "Comet."
Article X. To the whole school, we
bequeath the example which our class
has set. And if you follow in our foot-
steps, "Surely success will crown your
efforts."
Article XI. The study hall, to all the
couples. May there always be as many
love affairs there as there were this
year.
Article XII. To the Seniors, our
"Farewell Address" notebooks. Here's
hoping they will appreciate them as
much as we would have if we had been
so remembered.
  Article XIII. Looney Abernathy
wills his position as electrician to Wil-
liam Ham.
Article XIV. We "have worked Miss
Happy so hard so we bequeath her to
the One who will take the best care of
her.
We do hereby appoint Mr. Zimmer-
man, our principal, sole heir and exe-
cutor of our last will and testament.
In witness whereof, we, the class of
'17, the testators, have to this, our
will, written on one sheet of parch-
ment, set our hand and seal, this twen-
ty-fourth day of May, 1917.
