TESTAMENT of |
We, the members of the Senior Class, being of wonderfully sound and well balanced mind, although physically scarred and wrinkled by the hardships which we have endured from our Freshman hazing to the Senior exams, do hereby bequeath in the following order our personal property and at- tractions to the Students of Grove School. Article I. Mr. Zimmerman, to the whole school. Article II. His goodness to us, to the Seniors, to be handed down from Sen- ior class to Senior class. Article III. We do not know about the rest of the faculty, but another that we can bequeath you is Miss Pearl, our history teacheras good one as you could wish for. Article IV. The Senior privileges to the Senior Class, but beware of the underclassmen encroaching on your rights, especially the Sophs. Article V. Inza Ezell leaves behind her her good grades, to be divided among the needy. Article VI. Edith Johnson wills her punctuality (?) to Margaret Foreman, hoping the said person to be greatly benefited by the same. Article VII. The Senior Basket Ball Team bequeaths its illustrious rep- utation to the Junior team. Article VIII. Eunice Roberts leaves |
to Elsa Ezell the honorable office of being the editor-in-chief of the "Com- et." Article IV (sic) should be IX. Herron Kibbons leaves to Robert Foreman the job of manag- ing the "Comet." Article X. To the whole school, we bequeath the example which our class has set. And if you follow in our foot- steps, "Surely success will crown your efforts." Article XI. The study hall, to all the couples. May there always be as many love affairs there as there were this year. Article XII. To the Seniors, our "Farewell Address" notebooks. Here's hoping they will appreciate them as much as we would have if we had been so remembered. Article XIII. Looney Abernathy wills his position as electrician to Wil- liam Ham. Article XIV. We "have worked Miss Happy so hard so we bequeath her to the One who will take the best care of her. We do hereby appoint Mr. Zimmer- man, our principal, sole heir and exe- cutor of our last will and testament. In witness whereof, we, the class of '17, the testators, have to this, our will, written on one sheet of parch- ment, set our hand and seal, this twen- ty-fourth day of May, 1917. Seniors of '17. |
