SENIOR CLASS POEM

Our high school days are ended at last,
Our work at Grove is done.
Each one in our number here
Has fought the battle and won.
There were days spent here in pleasure,
There were others—days of strife.
But, after all, these past four years
Were the happiest of our life.

As Freshmen, we worked willingly ;
As Sophs and Juniors, too ;
Then Seniors, dignified and proud,
Our work was almost through.
We labored gladly, earnestly ;
At length we reached the goal ;
Before we knew, the bell to leave
The dear old spot had tolled.

Now that our tasks are finished here,
The race is ended today,
Each goes from the old place solemnly
On his respective way.
In each heart are mingled emotions
Of pride, of sorrow, of pain ;
For a day here crowded with joys and cares
Can ne'er be lived again.

Classes have preceded us,
Many of them, 'tis true ;
Yet just as these have gone before,
There are others to follow through.
To these classes that succeed us,
You'll have to work hard to gain
The top of the ladder, Success, the goal
The Class of '30 attained.

SENIOR CLASS SONG

For four long years, through smiles and tears,
We've been in Old Grove High.
Now graduation seems so near
We hate to say good-by.
Our time has passed so pleasantly
We'd like to stay and stay ;
But now we know that we must go,
And this is all we say.

Good-by, High School ; we've loved you, oh, so well.
Good-by, classmates ; our sorrow we won't try to tell.
Whatever we may do,
Miles though we may be from you,
We'll not forget, for you can bet
We'll still love you.

Now, since we know we have to go,
We'll try to wear a grin.
We'll just resolve to do our best,
Whatever work we're in ;
We'll strive to make you proud of us,
While working day by day.
Where'er we go, you'll always know
We love you as we say.
