Grove Centennial Update...
As of today, over 220 tickets to the centennial dinner have been purchased and inquiries
continue to come in from all over the country. If you are thinking of attending the dinner
on June 24th, I strongly advise you to purchase your dinner tickets immediately. Although
we have added additional seating, this event will likely sell out soon. The next Grove
celebration committee meeting is set for Monday, April 24th at 7:00 p.m. at the
Paris-Henry County Heritage Center. All interested persons are invited to attend and
encouraged to give your input. One recent suggestion is for the Paris chapter of the
Masons to conduct a building rededication ceremony and/or a reenactment of the laying of
the cornerstone at 2p.m. on June 24th as part of the historical marker unveiling. More
Grove High School items are desperately needed for the exhibit at the Heritage Center.
Items may be loaned or donated. We really need as many artifacts as possible by the end of
April so the exhibit can be installed by the middle of May. The historical society is also
accepting monetary donations to cover the cost of framing historical artifacts,
photographs and documents that will be permanently hung in the Grove Tower Building.
Checks for donations and dinner tickets may be mailed to the Henry County Historical
Society, c/o Donna Winchester, 715 Old Union Rd., Paris, TN 38242. Your support and
encouragement are greatly appreciated.
