Mitchell Lawrence "Big 6" McClain

Retired Tecumseh Products worker Mitchell Lawrence “Big 6” McClain, 61, of Paris died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at his residence.

His funeral will be at noon Friday at East Wood Church of Christ, with Edward Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation is planned from 6-8 p.m. today at Rawls Funeral Home.

Born Sept. 18, 1949, in Paris, he was a son of the late Dolphus O. McClain Sr. and Annie K. McClain.

McClain was a 1967 Grove High School graduate and a member of Sparks Street Church of Christ. He was a Vietnam War veteran and served in the National Guard for 25 years.

He leaves one child, Misti LaDawn McClain of Murray; nine brothers and sisters: Barbara Byars, Dolphus McClain Jr., Richard (Alethea) McClain, Beverly (Frank) VanDyke, Anita (Darnell) Wilson, Anthony (Patricia) McClain and Victor McClain, all of Paris, and Constance (Bethel) Fuller and Dana McClain, both of Houston; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
