| Lera Jane Snow Sykes Published: Wednesday, April 24, 2013 12:02 PM CDT The funeral service for Jane Snow Sykes is planned at 10 a.m. Thursday at McEvoy Funeral Home. Ron Davidson, director of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Association, will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Named as pallbearers are Tony and Spencer Bowers, Teddy Kenworthy, Brad Barnes, Brad Willoughby and Brady Bratton. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Sykes, Joe, Bill and Eddie Snow and Billy Grooms. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Sykes, 90, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at her residence. Born Oct. 30, 1922, in Paris, she was a daughter of the late John and Jessie Kibbons Snow. She was married on May 25, 1940, to Fred Sykes, who died Oct. 21, 1999. Sykes was a member of Temple Baptist Church. A family member said she enjoyed flower gardening and loved her sight-seeing rides through the countryside. She leaves one daughter: Fredda (Jerry) Bevill of Camden; four sons: Harold (Celisa) Sykes and Leslie (Linda) Sykes, both of Buchanan, Rusty Sykes of Paris and Jackie (Sandy) Sykes of McKenzie; one sister: Blanche Stewart of Paris; Six grandchildren: Tony (Donna) Bowers, Laura (Teddy) Kenworthy, Heather (Michael) Canady, Amber (Brad) Barnes and Eric and April Sykes; and eight great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son: Kim Sykes in infancy; three sisters: Merle Stout, Kattie Williams and Billye Rowena Kimbel; and four brothers: J.S., Warren, Phillip and Earl Snow. |
