| The funeral service for retired
CSX Railroad employee Joe A. Trotter of Paris was at 2 p.m. Sunday at McEvoy
Funeral Home. Mike Burney, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, and Alex Bomar officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Named as pallbearers were Charlie, Jack and John Winters, Jacky Crouch, Johnny Whitworth and Roy Wright. Jimmy Wilson was an honorary pallbearer. Visitation was Saturday and Sunday. Trotter, 77, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Henry County Medical Center. His wife, Brenda Joyce Winters Trotter, survives. They were married on June 11, 1966. Born June 9, 1939, in Paris, he was a son of the late John H. and Mary Elexie Workman Trotter. He was a Grove High School graduate and a U.S. Army veteran. A family member said he was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters: Brenda Hill and Jennifer Trotter and fiancé Jimmy Hamilton, both of Paris, and Linda (Stacy) Clark of Cottage Grove; one son: Danny Trotter of Paris; two sisters: Catheryn (Cully) Cobb of Nashville and Betty Gannon of Smyrna; one brother: Tommy (Rita) Trotter of Mapleton, Kan.; Six grandchildren: Joe (Courtney) Trotter, Tiffany Clark, Samantha Clark, Brittany Clark, Annaleise Trotter and Malia Trotter; and one great-grandchild: C. J. McMillan. He also was preceded in death by two brothers: Charles and Bobby Trotter. |
