| Carl Ross Veazey, 87, of
Paris died this morning, Jan. 29, 2015, at Jackson-Madison County General
Hospital.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr.
Robert Martin, Dr. Paul Veazey and Brian Ross Wimberley officiating, burial
will follow at Walker Cemetery.
His nephews will serve as pallbearers. Carl's Morning Breakfast Group will
serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation 4:00 - 7:00 PM Friday and after 12:00 PM Saturday until service
time.
He was born in Paris to the late Don D. and Nettie Ross Veazey. On April 26,
1952 he married Jacque Veazey, she survives in Paris.
Survived by a daughter: Sissy (Rick) Lowe, Paris; sons: Stan (Amy) Veazey,
Paris, Duke (Lucretia) Veazey, Puryear; sister: Donna Turner, Camden;
grandchildren: six and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceded by a sister: Judy Hooper, 2008 and a brother: Dan Veazey, 1995.
Mr. Veazey was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. Carl was
a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Japan. He was a 1951 graduate of Mississippi
State University. Carl Ross worked at H.C. Spinks Clay Company for 47 years
serving as secretary and treasurer. He had a love of horses was an avid
sportsman who enjoyed hunting quail with his sons.
