Davis Vickery, 74, of Laurens, S.C., died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at
Regency Hospital in Greenville, S.C. Her husband of 57 years, Harold Vickery, survives. A graveside service is planned at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, with Mike Burney officiating. There will be no local visitation. Ridgeway Funeral Home is in charge. A service was set at 11:30 a.m. today at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Laurens, where she was a member. Born in Cincinnati on June 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Ray and Nannie Lou Sanderson Davis. She was a member of the Golden Chestnuts at her church and a member of Hickory Tavern Lions Club and Lake Rabon Crafty Hands Club. She also leaves three daughters: Cynthia Lake of Youngsville, N.C., Susan (Tomas) Bennett of Simpsonville, S.C. and Dana (Richie) Hurt of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; one son: Randy (Brenda) Vickery of Plano, Texas; four brothers: William Davis of Big Sandy, Michael Davis of Buchanan, Robert Davis of Eva and Harold Davis of LaQuinta, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Donald Lake; and two brothers: James and Larry Davis.
